ARLEIGH JORGENSON SLED DOG ADVENTURES

RIDES
Our Sled Dog Adventures began in 1988 with 10-minute rides from Lutsen Village, now the Caribou Highlands Courtyard. You will leave directly from our kennel and ride our beautiful and extensive trail system. You'll be driven by an experienced musher with a team of 10-12 Alaskan Huskies, tucked inside cushioned sled bags with sleeping bags for a comfortable and cozy ride.
The dogs love our trails and so will you.

Kadunce River Ride: Starting to the south, we will circle to the west, and then travel north, for a scenic run through the diversity of the Superior National Forest. About half-way around, we will drop onto the meadows of the upper Kadunce and head east. About 1/2 hour from the finish, our teams will charge through a large sugar maple forest, completing a full loop in our return to the kennel. 2 hours.

$150 per adult - $85 per child (12 and under)

Sugar Maple Grove Ride: Our Maple Grove trail features tight conifer canopies, beaver ponds, aspen and birch tress, along with two sugar maple groves. The dogs love this trail and usually run quickly around it. 1 hour.

$100 per adult - $55 per child (12 and under)

Maximum per sled is 2 adults or 3 children. Adult/child combos are good. We like total weights per sled to be less than 350 lbs., although we are flexible, if you are. The less the weight, the faster and more comfortable the ride. Rides can begin anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p. m..

Mushing Day Trips - You Mush!

Lutsen skiers, X-country skiers, and Snowmobilers, this is for you...
To drive these dogs is to nurture their instincts, and your own. Their spirit will get up inside you...

Guests will harness and drive 5-6 dogs with instruction and supervision on the trail. Your guide will lead you, but your dogs will teach you. Children can do this with 3-4 dogs.

Drive your own team for the entire time, one person per sled
Full Day: 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., includes lunch - 1 - $320/ 3 or more-$300 ea.
Half Day: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.- 1 -$220/ 3 or more-$210 ea.
Offered daily, no experience required, average fitness will be helpful. Can you walk a couple of miles without stopping? Discounts for returning guests: 10% full-day, 5% half-day.

Directions: Just 40 minutes from Lutsen, our kennel is 20 minutes from Grand Marais. Take Hwy. 61 east and 7 miles past Grand Marais. Turn inland onto County Road 14 and travel four miles. Turn right onto Frank's Way. We're #60.

A heated wall tent will greet you when you arrive - and welcome you with hot chocolate and cider when you return from the trail.
